Brad Pitt starred WWII epic Inglourious Basterds has been invited to compete at the Cannes Film Festival 2009 running from May 13 till 24. The movie, which follows a band of Jewish-American soldiers whose mission is to take down a group of Nazis, will hit the cinemas on 21 August. -- Variety
